The outgoing district chairperson for Ntungamo Denis Singahache has called for unity among the leaders and technocrats in the area.
Singahache who was speaking at the official handover of office held at the district’s board today afternoon revealed that the accomplishments that have been achieved by his leadership were made possible by the close working relationship his team had with the technocrats, development partners and the communities.

Authorities in Ntungamo district have cautioned locals to stay away from Omungyenyi swamp after a stray crocodile was sighted in the area.
The Crocodile in has been sighted near omungyenyi trading center in Rubaare sub county.
Ntungamo district Tourism officer Robert Aturinda says that the crocodile is mature and has been sighted near Omungyenyi bridge where locals have been watering their animals and others thronging the area for swimming.

Authorities in Ntungamo have embarked on a move to check the spread of lumpy skin disease following an outbreak in the area.
The outbreak has so far been confirmed in the sub counties of Rukoni East, Rukoni West, Nyakyera and Kitwe town council.
Julius Baguma a resident of Nyakyera sub county says that they outbreak has hit hard the farmers since they have to meet the cost of the treatment on their own.

Rwoho town council and Rukoni west sub county in Ruhaama –Ntungamo district is set to receive electricity according to the rural electrification agency.
The meeting happens ahead of the implementation of the project to extend electricity to some areas in Ruhaama area.

The minister of state for microfinance Mr Haruna Kyeyune Kasolo says Ugandans can only claim to be poor if it’s their choice and lavish spending other than government policy and initiatives on policies for poverty alleviation.
“No Ugandans should claim to be poor; if anyone is poor in Uganda then it’s by personal choice and th ey shall never live to be rich. It’s just a feeling that they are poor. What has the government not done to drive Ugandans out of poverty?” Mr Kasolo asked.

The roofing, painting, wiring, shuttering is now complete with toilet facilities.
The projects being implemented by Kwed construction company limited cost 500 million shillings each.

Ntungamo district with support from UNICEF has embarked on conducting training for Village health teams HTs on COVID-19 pandemic.
The district targets to train all the 1947 VHTs in the district who are implementing the program of treating childhood illnesses at community level like malaria, pneumonia, and diarrhea (ICCM program).

The distribution of government masks has kicked off in the southwestern district of Ntungamo.
The exercise that will see 429000 masks distributed to residents above the age of six in Ntungamo district was today flagged off by the Ntungamo resident district commissioner George Bakunda at Ntungamo district headquarters.
Bakunda called on the residents of Ntungamo district to put to good use the masks that have been given out to ensure that they stay safe from COVID-19.

A total of 10 people have been quarantined at Ntungamo health training institute in Ntungamo district after they got in contact with a truck driver who tested positive to COVID-19.
The contacts were traced after a truck driver who had entered Uganda through Mirama hills and later travelled to Kyabirara Market after spending a night in Rubaare town council –Ntungamo district to load matooke tested positive.
