Ntungamo, Uganda — In a significant boost to livestock farming, the government of Uganda has donated modern motorized forage choppers to 11 farmers in Ntungamo District.
According to Dr. Yaake Basulira, the Ntungamo District Veterinary Officer, the equipment is intended to enhance animal feeding practices, ultimately increasing milk production and supporting commercial livestock farming.

Ntungamo District has launched a digital data collection system aimed at improving water service delivery and ensuring the efficient management of water sources.
As part of the initiative, 28 tablets have been distributed to lower local governments to facilitate real-time data collection on the status of water sources. The move is expected to enhance planning, monitoring, and timely intervention in addressing water-related challenges.

Persons with disabilities (PWDs) and the elderly in Ntungamo District have been urged to take a leading role in fighting poverty to enhance their livelihoods and achieve self-sufficiency.
The call was on Tuesday made by Amiidu Rukundo, the Chairperson for Persons with Disabilities, during the handover of special grants at the Ntungamo District headquarters. The grants, aimed at empowering these vulnerable groups, will provide financial support for small business ventures and family sustenance.

NTUNGAMO, UGANDA – Ruhaama Secondary School in Ntungamo District has received new infrastructure worth UGX 1.9 billion, aimed at improving learning conditions and addressing space constraints.
The newly commissioned facilities include a computer laboratory complex, a multipurpose hall, six fully furnished classrooms, and two lined toilets with five stances each.

Ntungamo District Chairperson Samuel Muchunguzi Rwakigooba has urged residents to actively support government efforts in promoting disease prevention and public health.
Speaking on Wednesday at the launch of construction works for a five-stance lined latrine at Rujumo Trading Centre in Kagarama Town Council, valued at 27 million shillings, Muchunguzi emphasized the importance of sanitation in preventing hygiene-related diseases. Authorities in Ntungamo District have halted construction works at Kyaruhuga Primary School in Nyamunuka Town Council over concerns about the quality of work.
On Wednesday, a team of district leaders, including District Chairperson Sam Muchunguzi and Deputy Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Rosemary Atuhaire, inspected the site and expressed dissatisfaction with the construction of a two-classroom block valued at 120 million shillings. Citing substandard work, they ordered an immediate suspension of the project until further notice.
