Ntungamo district local council chairperson Sam Muchunguzi Rwakigoba has called on the civil servants in the district to embrace team work if effective service delivery is to be realized.
Muchunguzi who was last evening speaking at the retreat for the heads of departments and the members of the district executive committee held at Mutumo Island resort on Lake Nyabihoko revealed that team work makes it easy for the staff to work together in harmony as well as supporting one another in case of need.

Authorities in Ntungamo district have embarked on the restoration of Kyabajwa wetland.
The wetland in question is located in Kyabajwa village of Itojo Parish in Itojo Sub County –Ntungamo district.
Abraham Atuhaire an environment officer with Ntungamo district says that over three hectares of the wetland were encroached and depleted by locals who have been growing cabages, tomatoes and planting of Eucalyptus trees.
Atuhaire revealed that the activities threaten the ecosystems as well as threatening the existence of wildlife.

Ntungamo district local government has today afternoon received a 1.4 billion health facility constructed with funding from the government of Uganda through the ministry of health.
The new structures at Buhanama health center II will see the facility upgraded to a health centers III.
The works at the facility Included the facelift of the outpatient word, construction of a general and maternity wards, four staff units, toilet facilities, a placenta pit, a medical waste pit and connection to power grid as well as solar lighting.

Civil servants in the country have been urged to always prepare for retirement on time.
The call was made on Wednesday by the principal human resource officer, Ntungamo Jennifer Muhairwe, while speaking at the launch of the Greater Ihunga-Kabasti pesioner’s association held at Century Guest House in Ihunga Sub County.
Muhairwe revealed that some civil servants usually wait until they can no longer receive pay to start processing their gratuity, which he says is inconvenient.

A group of well-wishers, through the family of retired Brigadier General Samuel Kakuru, a resident of Rubaare town council, donated a total of 70 mattresses and 70 blankets to Rubaare Health Center IV in Rubaare town council in Ntungamo district.
The items were handed over to the facility this afternoon during a ceremony held at the facility.
While handing over the items, Rtd.Brigadier General Samuel Kakuru revealed that the items were procured with support from friends in the United States, where his daughter Jean Natukunda stays.
