Rwahi- Rwentobo Town Council Launches Sanitation Campaign

Rwentobo town council in Ntungamo district has today launched a sanitation campaign aimed at improving the state of Sanitation in the area.


The campaign will  run every first Thursday of the month and will always require locals in the area to spare atleast three hours to clean the town council.

 

Youth Urged to Champion Fight Against AIDS

 

The youth have been urged to champion the fight against HIV/AIDS if the next generation is to be productive.

The call was made by the Ntungamo district local council five chairperson Denis Singahache while speaking at the dialogue between the district leaders,Health workers and member of Intergrated Community based initiatives-ICOBI  held at  Ntungamo board room.

Singahache revealed the AIDS scourge is a serious challenge in the district and the country as a whole and must be tackled with concerted efforts.

Ntungamo Rolls out the Village Agent Model

Ntungamo district has rolled out the village agent model in a bid to promote Agriculture commercialization.

The village agent model which is a private sector –led and market oriented, providing benefits to all value chain actors. The model is not a separate project but only a methodology of improving service delivery.

Workers representatives to Ntungamo district council have this morning been sworn in at Ntungamo district council hall.

The swearing in was in a council session presided over by the district speaker Elijah Atuhaire who cautioned the councilors against fronting personal interests instead of ensuring that the views of the people they represent are brought to the attention of the council.

Locals Urged to Embrace Clean and Safe Water Usage

Ntungamo district local council five chairperson Denis Singhahache has asked locals in the district to embrace clean and safe water usage if they are to improve on their livelihoods.

 

He was speaking at Living water international –Uganda exit Meeting held at Ntungamo district council hall.

The project has seen the establishment of 355 water points in the district in a period of 10 years operating in Ruhaama county.

 

Women Council Takes Office

The 5 members of the newly elected Ntungamo women council on Tuesday took office receiving tools from the old women council with a warning against conflict with the district council and knowing their boundaries.

The District council secretary for Gender Juliet Mpamize Buriku said many women councils over extend their boundaries an issue that leads to crashing with top district leadership as well the district council which must be avoided.

Parents Cautioned Against Neglecting Parenting Roles

Parents have been cautioned to desist from the practice of neglecting their parenting responsibilities if nurturing the future generation is to be realized.

The call was today evening made by Ntungamo district chairperson Denis Singahache while speaking at a dialogue with a team of leaders from the districts of Butalega,Palisa and Namutumba who are on a visit in Ntungamo to share experiences.
