Ntungamo Authorities Suspend Construction at Kyaruhuga Primary School Over Shoddy Work

Authorities in Ntungamo District have halted construction works at Kyaruhuga Primary School in Nyamunuka Town Council over concerns about the quality of work.
On Wednesday, a team of district leaders, including District Chairperson Sam Muchunguzi and Deputy Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Rosemary Atuhaire, inspected the site and expressed dissatisfaction with the construction of a two-classroom block valued at 120 million shillings. Citing substandard work, they ordered an immediate suspension of the project until further notice.
Chairperson Muchunguzi emphasized that district leaders would not allow government funds to go to waste due to poor workmanship. "We cannot sit back and watch as public resources are misused," he said.
Deputy RDC Atuhaire stated that the district leadership would convene a harmonization meeting with the contractor, Studio Construction Company Limited, and project beneficiaries to determine the next course of action.
Meanwhile, Asuman Kigongo, the district councilor for Nyamunuka Town Council, criticized the contractor for ignoring repeated concerns raised by local leaders and school management.
Attempts to get a comment from Studio Construction Company Limited were unsuccessful.
